Would you like to lead the clean-up and restoration of Indonesia's mining and industrial sites? Sirkularium is building a standing pool of Remediation Specialists, engaged as consultants for PT Sirkularium Strategic Solution. This vacancy is always open: you can apply at any time and applications are reviewed as projects arise. You would spearhead remediation and reclamation activities across mining, oil and gas and other relevant industries, from assessing contamination to designing and overseeing clean-up and land restoration. The work is remote, based in Jakarta, and open to different expertise levels and engagement schemes.
About Sirkularium
Sirkularium is an Indonesian consultancy for the environment, working across three practices: Waste and Pollution, Energy and Climate, and Sustainable Resources. The Sustainable Resources practice supports government and industry on responsible mining, natural resource management, environmental economics and land remediation.
Sirkularium has worked with a Danish government institution, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, under the Strategic Sector Cooperation programme. This gives the team direct experience with international governance and reporting standards.
Your role
As a Remediation Specialist you lead the assessment and clean-up of contaminated and degraded sites. You investigate soil, water and land conditions, design remediation and reclamation approaches, and oversee their delivery so sites are restored safely and to standard.
Your work spans mining, oil and gas and other industries, covering site assessment, remediation design, mine closure and reclamation, and compliance with environmental standards. The exact scope depends on your expertise level and the projects you join.
What you will do
- Assess contamination and site conditions, including soil, groundwater, surface water and land degradation
- Design remediation and reclamation approaches for contaminated and disturbed land
- Spearhead and oversee remediation activities across mining, oil and gas and other industries
- Plan and support mine closure, reclamation and post-mining land use
- Ensure compliance with Indonesian environmental standards and permitting for remediation
- Monitor and evaluate remediation performance, with sampling, testing and reporting
- Deliver dissemination: technical guidance, training and workshops with government and industry
Expertise levels
- Associate: Bachelor (S1) in environmental engineering, geology, chemistry or a related field, up to 3 years of experience. Focus: field work, sampling and analysis support.
- Specialist: Bachelor or Master (S1 / S2), 3 to 7 years of experience. Focus: leads site assessment and remediation design.
- Senior Specialist: Master (S2), or Bachelor with a strong track record, 8+ years of experience. Focus: leads remediation strategy; principal advisor.
- All levels require a background in a relevant field such as environmental engineering, geology or hydrogeology, chemistry or environmental science, or mining and reclamation engineering. Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is required; working English is an advantage.
